About
It is unquestionable the relevance of Mathematics in HealthCare Services. This is clear when we think of scheduling or logistic problems in hospitals, or in the statistical analysis of medical information. The fast growth of healthcare expenses, associated to challenging problems, urges the need to create innovative solutions, some of which can only be addressed by mathematical knowledge.
NOVA University, through its NOVAHealth programme, has strategically promoted collaborative research among NOVA’s academic units, as well as with external partners from Science, Industry, and Society. Its mission is to create value in healthcare by science production, innovative solutions, and knowledge dissemination.
NOVA Math’s Thematic Line Mathematics for Health is part of this effort, bringing mathematical knowledge to support the activities in the health sector.
