Lourdes Afonso, NOVA Math member, was recently re-elected President of the Board of the Institute of Portuguese Actuaries (IAP).

The IAP is a non-profit professional association of a technical and scientific nature, whose aim is to encourage and provide research, development and improvement of science and technology in the analysis and decision-making of institutions, in relation to their management in the economic, financial and asset security fields, and in all aspects and applications relevant to business risks.
