The next edition of the NOVA Distinguished Lecture Series in Mathematics will take place on October 7 (14h30, Library Auditorium) and will host Professor Ulrich Kohlenbach talk about “Proof Mining: A Logic-Based Approach to Computational Mathematics”. More details may be found in the attachment.

Professor Ulrich Kohlenbach conducts his research in the areas of Logic, namely Proof Theory, Computability Theory, and Constructive Reasoning. He obtained his PhD in 1990 from the J.W. Goethe University of Frankfurt. He is currently a Professor in the Department of Mathematics at Technische Universität Darmstadt, Coordinating Editor of the Annals of Pure and Applied Logic, and Associate Editor of the Journal of Mathematical Logic.

NOVA Distinguished Lecture Series in Mathematics is a joint initiative of NOVA Math and the Department of Mathematics of NOVA School of Science and Technology (NOVA FCT), that brings together outstanding researchers and the NOVA FCT community, aiming to broaden students’ mathematical education, present new challenges and spark their scientific curiosity regarding research in Mathematics.
