The Final Meeting of the CoSysM3 Project will take place on Friday, February 20th, in the Library Auditorium of NOVA FCT, starting from 10:00 to 17:30.
Throughout the day, there will be presentations by the coordinators of the tasks from the participating universities, providing a review of the objectives and results achieved. We will also have presentations of selected projects, with special emphasis on the students and fellows involved in the project.
The CoSysM3 project focuses on advancing mathematical modelling in behavioural epidemiology, combining hybrid models with systems and control theory applied to infectious and autoimmune diseases. It aims to study the impact of human behaviour on disease dynamics, develop multi-scale and hybrid models, and design optimal interventions to control epidemics and improve treatment strategies. Mathematical tools include differential equations, dynamical systems, optimal control, and numerical simulations. The project also promotes applied mathematics education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. Overall, CoSysM3 seeks to provide predictive insights and control strategies that integrate micro- and macro-level behaviours, contributing to both scientific knowledge and public health solutions.
